Earlier this year, Samsung made headlines with the launch of its first Galaxy AI smartphone, the Galaxy S24, featuring a suite of AI-powered capabilities designed to enhance productivity and user experience.

The tech giant is now pushing boundaries further, developing AI features that could potentially make the Settings menu obsolete in future smartphones and tablets.

According to a report from ETNews, Samsung is exploring AI-powered functionalities that would allow users to operate Galaxy devices without needing to access the Settings menu.

The company aims to implement predictive technology that can anticipate user preferences and needs, enhancing the functionality of key touchpoints, such as the keyboard and camera.

While specifics remain unclear, Samsung's approach echoes recent innovations in its One UI software for televisions.

The updated TV software displays frequently accessed settings when the Settings button on the remote is pressed, streamlining user navigation and reducing the need to wade through multiple sub-menus.

Additionally, Samsung has announced plans to launch an upgraded version of Bixby, its AI-driven digital assistant, powered by large language models (LLMs).

The revamped Bixby will be capable of comprehending complex sentences and executing multiple commands within a single voice instruction.

Already implemented in some high-end Bespoke series home appliances, the new Bixby aims to deliver an even more engaging and powerful user experience.

As it stands, Bixby can adjust several settings on Samsung devices, but the forthcoming version is expected to introduce even more advanced capabilities.

Users might be able to articulate specific settings changes directly to Bixby, reminiscent of its initial launch. Furthermore, Bixby could evolve to predict user actions based on smartphone usage patterns.

With the introduction of One UI 7.0, Samsung is poised to release more sophisticated AI features alongside the enhanced Bixby, potentially allowing users to access numerous functions without directly interacting with their phone's screen.

If Samsung successfully implements these AI features, it could revolutionize how users interact with their phones.

However, a rushed rollout could lead to significant frustration.

While the users hope Samsung will deliver a polished product, the recent trend of companies launching unfinished AI solutions in a race to be first has been concerning.
